Happiness in a Depression

I’m not too optimistic for the near economic future of America or the World but I am looking forward to some of the benefits of a depression.

  • Enjoying the ketchup sandwiches my Grandpa always talked about
  • Learning how to can vegetables
  • Having more sporting events on basic channels, since no one will be able to afford satellite and cable
  • No more fighting over who gets the bill when I go out with friends
  • Not feeling guilty that my house paint is peeling
  • Reusing aluminum foil for both food preservation and animal shaped gifts
  • Become a squirrel hunter
  • Wear my worn out jeans with pride
  • Raise chickens
  • Chop wood like a fiend.  Don’t know about you but I love choppin wood
  • Feel like a king when I buy a 24 pack of Pabst
  • Won’t have to hear about activists trying to save whales
  • Riding my bike more
  • Picking up pennies on the street, even if they aren’t face up
  • Having conversations while in bread lines
  • No more TMZ
  • Making moonshine
  • Having a legitimate excuse not to go shopping with my girlfriend
  • Lose 10-15 pounds from lack of food, therefore helping my water buoyancy when the glaciers melt from Global Warming
  • Having more youngsters play tag and not becoming obese while playing Halo
  • Appreciating the Lawrence Welk show
  • Honing my bartering skills
  • No longer being considered a “pack rat” instead being called resourceful
  • Stop receiving credit card offers in the mail
  • Knowing the true meaning of horse power, yeehaw!
  • Enjoying life without materialistic burdens

I’m sure I’ll think of more.
