I try not to let things irritate me but weathermen seem to bypass my irritation barriers and crush my mainframe with a bombardment of bunker busters. Weathermen are like a 98 Degrees cd shoved up the tailpipe of a Civic … overplayed and exhausting. Perhaps it’s the fault of their producers… maybe I shouldn’t go after the messenger… after all they are just doing their jobs. But I digress, I don’t know who to blame but regardless the weather coverage on the news drives me nuts. For starters the world seems to be falling apart at the seams, yet every newscast begins with the weather and takes up a good 10 minutes. Can someone explain to me why it should take 10 minutes to tell me the temperature and chance of precipitation for the following day? And I really don’t even care about the current days weather, why rehash the past? Let’s look forward. I’m not concerned about the next 10 days either, especially when the likely hood of a correct forecast is as likely as a mallard calling a Dodo birds bluff in a poker game in Antarctica. The weather teasers before commercial are also unnecessary, “Stick around!, when we come back I’ll give you the inside scoop on whether this rain will stop anytime soon.” Do they have a confidential informant in the clouds? No, how about I turn off the tv, look out my frickin window to see if it’s raining, and be more accurate than the Doppler 40000xr.
Here’s what I’d like to see. Choose one of the following icons to be displayed in the lower right hand corner of the screen with a 20 degree range of possible high temperatures for the following day. This would allow for more actual “news” coverage and less arm gestures in front of a green screen full of jet streams. If I want something more I’ll go to the weather channel and veg out for a few hours looking at the same Doppler screen on repeat. I know I’m bitter but why waste time on something so inaccurate when there are a million more important things going on in the world. My $.02.

Dude, your blog images are seriously stepping up in quality. And the speech bubbles?!? Epic.
