Bailout?, Stimulus Package?, or Handcuffs?
Another $789+ billion bites the dust. Ever notice the similarities between politicians thirst for spending more money and crackheads quest for the next fix? Throwing more money at the problem is like me doubling down on supreme burritos when I have runs worse than the Boston Marathon. I’m not an economist by any stretch but if I were 11 trillion in debt I wouldn’t go out and drop another trillion on an “investment” that ”may or may not work.” I’d be a moron! To put this $789 billion into perspective, if I hijacked a John Deere and dumped 1 ton of $1 bills in every square mile of Idaho, there’d still be 2.9 billion dollar bills left over. That should cover my gas tab for driving the tractor. Why can’t we ever learn from history. Just last year the suits in Washinton were saying we had a sound financial sytem, yet they keep coming back asking for more cheddar. I can’t remember the last time the government did something without A.) wasting $$$, B.) wasting time, or C.) screwing the average joe with more paperwork, taxes, and future obligations. And yet as I write this Obama is set to sign the most expensive piece of legislation in history tomorrow. I’m not only worried about the initial price tag but the endless future fat of government that this new bill creates. I wish Washinton would quit being a cook in the kitchen. Sure there will be some pain in the short term but there won’t be the insurmountable future financial burden to overcome. I have visions of 20 guys instead of 5 standing around fixing a pot hole to stimulate my pocketbook all while there are printing presses endlessly spitting out $1,000 bills to be air dropped so we the people can buy bread. This isn’t a poo on Democrats rant, I’d be all for a mass impeachment for the whole Washington crowd. A fresh start. Instead we’re looking at a larger central government that crowds out investment, saps resources from the private sector, and produces anemic economic growth. Of course, it’s always easier to ignore all of this and say America is a nation of great resolve and will never fail. Google Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, Mongol Empire, Persian Empire, and British Empire. For now I’d suggest jammin some Merle Haggard and keeping an eye on the debt clocks
